2007-12-01 23:25:00 | Hi, My computer fails every time I try to boot it, about 30 seconds after starting it. It just hangs up. Same in safe Mode, and I have also tried reinstalling the software, but that hangs up too. I have Windows XP. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks

2007-12-02 00:30:00 | Faulty RAM? Faulty PSU? Faulty CPU? Faulty HDD? Something else perhaps. Without more info I suupose its gonna be a process of swapping things out and trying new hardware until you find what is at fault. Good luck.

2007-12-03 22:19:00 | Hi, Surprise, surprise. It has started working again, even though I did nothing to fix it. It is probably an intermittent fault then. Thanks folks for the advice.

2007-12-04 03:53:00 | very likely a hardware problem. and if it's intermittent you'll have even more fun | Agent_24 (57) | |
2007-12-04 04:32:00 | if it happens again, remove ram, vid card, cpu etc from the board and put em back. mate of mine had similar issues today. all it took was re-seating the cpu and ram for it to be all good again. dust build up on contacts can be fun, although his would not post, may help in your case as well. if not it rules that out as a cause. | Cho (12330) | |
