| 616724 | 2007-11-30 21:41:00 | Four days ago, automatic updates started to try to load .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 to my Vista (Home Premium) machine which doesnt seem to have the .NET Framework installed at all! I have unsuccessfully followed the instructions provided by Microsoft at least all those I can understand. Now, every time I go to do a quick shut-down, the machine wants to install the update. I have two questions: a) what is the .NET Framework and do I need it? And b) how do I stop this annoying nagging which goes nowhere? | Jabbirch (13076) | ||
| 616725 | 2007-11-30 22:25:00 | You need the NF 1.1 files to install 1.1 SP1. It depends if you install any programs that require the NF files. Whatever files you download from whatever site, should tell you if you need them. As a requirement. Some programs need NF 1.1, or 2, so they can install or run. None of the .Net framework installs come with XP either. Go to the windowsupdate site and scan, then untick the updates you dont want. |
