My wallpaper appears and after at least 30 or so seconds (i counted) the taskbar appears. i find it very odd, my profile size is only 3.19mb. i defragged and everything.....any ideas? aidanmaz (7180)

617534 2007-12-03 07:46:00 yes i have installed over 100mb of windows updates, and zonealarm is updated, i had the logon issue before i did windows update, so i can rule out an update playing up aidanmaz (7180)

617537 2007-12-03 08:11:00 Had this problem a while ago - when logging on after entering username/pw.

Win XP SP2

For me, it was the PC trying to reconnect the network drives when the resources they are trying to connect to are unavailable.

Disabling the network drives fixed the problem. Also, problem was non-existent when network resources were available.

617539 2007-12-03 09:28:00 This site (help.lockergnome.com)

One guy disabled offline files, in GPO, and that fixed it.
