I have a vent client set up to run with Vanguard (MMORPG). In most all online forays I have no problems, but Vent almost immediately becomes unusable.

Within seconds of connecting I find my ping blowing out to 30k.

I ran a tracert and supplied it to my isp (Orcon) asking for assistance. Twice. Both resulted in an automated reply acknowledging my petition, then nothing further. This was days ago.

My plan is the so called "max" down and 128 up. I would have thought this should be able to handle one online game and a vent client.

Ping tests return about 240ms to the vent server. Is it just a bandwidth issue or have I just managed to be landed with the routing from hell?

617399 2007-12-03 04:50:00 Probably not, 128kbps is probably enough for a game.. but depending on voice usage might not be sufficient. You'd have better luck at 192kbps :-/

I upgraded to Orcons "max/max" plan. Down id approx 2500 give or take and up approx 650.

Vent is still unusable. I have tried various codecs and even on a crusty 11 KHz per channel it broke up. None of my US based friends have any trouble with it suggesting it is my side.

p.s, I now have Dota bought and paid for via istore... curse you! :ban 		RandomCarnage (9359)
