617245 2007-12-02 02:39:00 I just got a new PC and have spent the afternoon installing all my favourite apps, when windows XP decided it wanted to install an automatic update. I had been connected to a wireless network through which I was accessing the internet with no problem at all.
After rebooting and installing the updates, my PC would start giving me the blue screen of death whenever I would connect to the wireless network (immediately after connecting). I would get a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error, saying there is a problem with the vnetusbr.sys driver. Anybody have any ideas?

Many thanks,

Jon

617246 2007-12-02 02:48:00 Oh, I failed to mention that I am connecting via a USB wireless adapter. I have just tried (after hours of messing round beforehand) plugging the adapter directly into the PC rather than via a USB, and voila, it works. Still, it would be nice to know why I cannot connect when it's plugged into a hub  Halfpint (13084)
617247 2007-12-02 02:49:00 Reinstall the wireless drivers. Sounds like theyre corrupt.

Get the latest version off whatever site.

You'll have to go to whoever made the computer / their site and search for the model of your PC. (if the wireless is onboard), or the site, whoever made the wireless adapter.

I think vnetusbr.sys has something to do with the wireless

Whats the brand / model of the wireless adapter if it isnt part of the computer?

Not all USB devices like hubs. If it works in a USB port and it doesnt crash, I would leave it there.
