617958 2007-12-04 20:06:00 I would be careful WHERE you get these things.

Did you scan it for viruses etc BEFORE you opened it?

It sounds like some kind of pirated software.

617959 2007-12-04 20:06:00 is there another way of decrypting this file without having the password?
it is also a .rar file if that would help
also did anyone find the red writing?

617960 2007-12-04 20:09:00 No. Didnt look. Dont intend to.

So it does have something to do with pirated software, doesnt it?

617962 2007-12-04 20:25:00 I doubt anyone will help you.

If this has something to do with something illegal.

617963 2007-12-04 20:59:00 :groan: This smells of a classic CON!

The encrypted file from the internet ?

Sounds like its not quite legal, if it is legal then you wouldn't be getting a "readme" file saying go visit a certain site .

They want you to go to a site to obtain the "Password" then if you are silly enough to go there - they attempt to infect your PC with spyware or if its a legit email you enter you will get hit with spam .

617964 2007-12-04 21:03:00 i already deleted the file cause my dad told me it might be malacious
thanks anyway

617965 2007-12-04 21:04:00 also 90% of the time those passworded rar files don't contain what you think they do anyway. it is done to waste you time because you are obviously trying to get something for free. Cho (12330)
617966 2007-12-04 21:17:00 Scan your PC now for EVERYTHING. Sure sounds like a site for the Gullible, Stupid and Naive. Bantu (52)
