618430 2007-12-06 10:27:00 Just wondering how well the game Crysis runs on everyones computers.

Anyone good some good results yet?

618431 2007-12-06 10:47:00 I can run Crysis on medium/high - shaders high, physics very high, volumetric high, and the rest medium. 1024x768 resolution. qazwsxokmijn (102)
618432 2007-12-06 10:59:00 Well, I've just done an upgrade, so ignoring the issues in this thread (pressf1.co.nz), the game runs quite nicely on medium settings.

I had even done an experiment of installing and running Crysis on my PC before the upgrade. It didn't meet the minimum system requirements then, but once everything loaded it was reasonably playable at minimum settings. More details in my (semi-OT) post here: pressf1.co.nz

Performance-wise, you'll get the most benefit from ensuring you have plenty of RAM - this is where Crysis is resource-hungry (besides the detailed rendering demands).

Really? I'm surprised the 8600GT can play Crysis on medium. Is your shaders set on medium?

Hey, If your AMD64 3000+ could run it on low with a GeForce 6

My AMD Sempron 3200+ (AMD64 2800+ speedwise) and A GeForce 7600GT OC should run it okay on low??? Can it??

618436 2007-12-06 17:53:00 My 8800GTX let me turn everything up to High, AA16x etc. It would not allow Very High.

It was fine at all times except intense battles where I would get an occasional weird smudge effect when moving quickly.

My friend has a 7800GT, it defaulted to low, he moved it to Medium and turned up the other settings and it all looked lovely, but he did get a bit of performance drop during battles.

Depends whether you want fast frame rates or lose a bit and have really gorgeous looking.

To get both wait for next years hardware. LOL

My CPU (before the upgrade) was actually an AthlonXP 2600+ - just a little slower than the minimum requirement of an AthlonXP 2800+. If you have 1 or 2GB RAM (not 512MB like I had), gameplay should be fine on low settings. Otherwise saving and loading data (i.e. checkpoints) will temporarily stall the game due to all the disk paging.

618438 2007-12-07 00:36:00 I can run mine at very high but the game is really buggy at the moment. The longer you play it the more and more it slows down even on lower settings. Online gaming that same. I played 3 times today and each ended with the graphics driver lockup (yes latest recommended beta drivers from NVidia) and a reboot to kill it. And people say windows is buggy. Big John (551)
618439 2007-12-07 07:03:00 Does anyone think this will run okay if I get more RAM on my computer lol. CaptainVincent (76)
