| 618427 | 2007-12-06 07:04:00 | Hey everyone. My monitor is only suppose to display resolutions up to (DELL E773s) 1024x768 @ 85Hz My GeForceFX 5200 & Intel 845G Graphics card obey this rule and only have resolutions up to 1024x768 supported. But my Radeon X200 allows me to display the following resolutions above 1024x768. 1152x864 16-bit 32-bit 60Hz 70Hz 75Hz 1280x720 16-bit 32-bit 60Hz 75Hz 85Hz 1280x768 16-bit 32-bit 60Hz 75Hz 1360x768 16-bit 32-bit 60Hz 75Hz All these resolutions are correctly displayed. But I would just like to know if this is safe for my monitor? Could this damage my hardware or something? |

Here's what it says on the Dell site:support.dell.com Resolution Horizontal scan range 30 kHz to 70 kHz (automatic) Vertical scan range 50 Hz to 160 Hz (automatic) Optimal preset resolution 1024 x 768 at 85 Hz Highest preset resolution 1024 x 768 at 85 Hz Highest addressable resolution 1280 x 1024 at 60 Hz I don't think it will harm it to run it at more than optimal (1027 x 768) |
