2007-12-09 03:25:00 | If any of them have a removal tool that removes all of their files, use it, then reinstall the driver. Might pay to disable the AV program/s as well. And boclean As some installs can have probs when the AV program is running.

Is it realy safe to dump all those entries with a green tick from Wise Reg and also all that is listed with the Wise disk clean. J Wise Disk Clean is OK, when you select the ones it says, you delete them to the recycle bin. They are there in case you need to put anything back also download Wise Cleaner NOT the reg cleaner - leave that out. Run Wise Cleaner, that should remove even more rubbish files. NOTE: I said DONT use the Reg Cleaner - thats different. |

2007-12-09 06:28:00 | Wainuitech, you are a clever bugger even if you don't know it. I need a bigger hammer ON MY HEAD. It acted exactly the same in safe mode. Of course it did it was the mouse that had packed up. When you asked, what port? so I got another mouse and all is well. Thanks Speedy I will try to come up with another one soon. It was strange that it happened when I uninstalled a program and someone thought DSTray was a Trojan. Thanks again fellas John

2007-12-09 06:31:00 | It was strange that it happened when I uninstalled a program and someone thought DSTray was a Trojan. There is a file called dstray.exe that does belong to a trojan. We didnt think, we knew. How can u uninstall it, when u said it wasnt there?

2007-12-09 07:14:00 | Thanks for the Compliment  - People that help Here, people Like Speedy, Pctek (post 5 was the trojan suggestion) and myself and many others see these sort of things every day - And usually deal with them one way or another. It's a process of elimation to find out where the problem lays, some times you try the basic's and thats all there is to it, other times its not so easy - at the end of the day finding the problem is 3/4 of the battle - once the problem is located, the answer is usually not that hard. The bigggest problem on a public forum is the person asking for help can be bomb -barded with so much advice that it gets confusing - sorting the problem when a PC is in front of you is ususally a lot easier. Other times if its a software problem you have to know when to call it quits - Safe the data and wipe the drive / reinstall. Glad it was resolved, and we didn't even get to 50 posts this time
