2007-12-08 02:37:00 | To confirm, is the Inbox the only one with the problem? If it is, it probably means that the Inbox.dbx file is corrupted. Read this for much useful info. www.microsoft.com

2007-12-08 05:43:00 | What about a dot along side Copy of show all messages? It must be in the settings, don't you think?

2007-12-08 06:07:00 | I put a dot alongside Copy of show all mess. Then I got an error mess.pop3 server can not be found. I then "deleted" the dot. What about if I do a system restore to about five days back when I did not have this problem?

2007-12-08 07:30:00 | I've definitely used system restore to great advantage in the past. You didn't answer my question regarding whether the problem pertained to only the Inbox. If you don't mind losing the Inbox contents, it can be deleted (or renamed, preferably) and OE will recreate it. There are commercial programs that say they can extract messages from corrupted dbx files - depends what the Inbox is worth to you.

What about if I do a system restore to about five days back when I did not have this problem? I suggested that,as that is my setting? System restore is worth a try,I hope you have tried a reboot, that solves lots. |

2007-12-08 08:27:00 | The prob. seems to be in and out boxes. I tried to send an email and it said..The host could not be found........socket error11001.. error No. 0x800CCCOD. I then did a system restore and now everything is working normally. I do not know why I did not think of that earlier. Thanks very much for all your inputs. | gradebdan (2186) | |
