618654 2007-12-07 05:21:00 Hauppauge is telling me I have to do the following:

"If Terminal Services are running, you must disable Terminal Services, and then you will be able to load the WinTV drivers, reboot the system, and then re-enable Terminal Services . "

What's this gonna do to any other programs I have running? :waughh:

What is Terminal Services anyway? (3rd grade English please?)

Where IS Terminal Services if I want to turn them ON/OFF?

I accidentally dumped the drivers and cannot get it up again .

Win XP/Pro-SP2+

618657 2007-12-07 05:52:00 I am getting errors like below:

ERROR hTV=10
ERROR hTV=0
ERROR Cannot find hcwChan . dll
ERROR vfw drivers are missing
ERROR MVWC . dll missing
ERROR AvcChnl . dll missing

I have about had it with this dumb card!

Every time I hcwclear and empty to Recycle bin and then run CCleaner . . I try again and it keeps on losing more and more .

I have dnldd the . exe several times from various sources and nothing works .

Shutting down terminal services made no change . . still screwed up .

WinTVCD 4_0_UK.exe
Works fine for me here in New Zealand. There might be a US version somewhere i don't know.

When you install it it is Version 6.0

618660 2007-12-07 19:19:00 This error ERROR hTV=10

By the looks of it means you're installing the wrong drivers

618661 2007-12-07 19:29:00 WinTV2000 is a program that comes with Hauppage cards.
They have an update of it with works much better.

Whenever there is a problem with hauppage stuff you run hwclear and it removes almost all traces to allow you to start again. I have checked the registry after running hwclear and it does not uninstall everything as it should, but probably enough to allow for a reinstall of drivers and software.

Your link will depend on which Hauppage card he has for the drivers.

I've run nwclear so many times..and it always says it is not a recognized command or operation..so I don't know if it works or not...gonna clean out in the registry next..after SEARCH and CCleaner.
