618270 2007-12-05 22:54:00 Any idea how to get one working?

WinXP SP2. Doesn't see it at all.
Pushed its little buttons etc, nothing.

New PC - ex-Dell KB and mouse.

Dell tell me there is no driver required, it just works. Uhuh.

618271 2007-12-05 23:12:00 according to their site...

If you purchased your Dell Desktop Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Bundle to use with an existing computer, then to enable all features insert the Setup CD-ROM, and follow the on-screen instructions to install (or restore) your mouse and keyboard software (about 5 minutes).

Follow the Connection Wizard's on-screen instructions to connect your mouse and keyboard.

618274 2007-12-05 23:45:00 I have a Dell Resource CD that has 73 drivers on it - the Unfortunate part is the dame thing wont run on a Non Dell - But you can get into the driver folder, then again Unfortunately being dell, they only have numbers for the EXE. SO time to go to dell, do a search for each file and hopefully 1 will be the Wireless driver.

If 1 is the wiresless driver we can sort out a file transfer some how as outlook wont send exe files. and the whole lot combined are 478 Mb:groan:

being awkward i'll start from the last to first - fingers xed

618275 2007-12-05 23:58:00 I suspect not.
The KB has model number: RT7D40.

The only driver on driverguide is actually a sound driver.

Dell tell me it doesn't need one, I'm to plug in its USB receiver, press its buttons (kb, receiver, mouse etc) and its all go.

Not.
Its not the batteries either.

Or the PC. Its new. Her Dell died. This is the KB, mouse from it, she hoped it would work.
I would have thought so, its just USB...but no.

I've been stuffing around for an hour and a half now. I admit defeat.

618279 2007-12-06 00:35:00 Dimension 5100.

BTX board.....

Not the 5100C or any, just 5100.

Its not tragic, we have given up on the idea.

She's deciding whether to get Logitech wireless or Logitech corded....

Its weird, it almost does, the receiver flicks once while booting.
Then nothing, sits there like a braindead thing.
