619921 2007-12-10 07:55:00 My vista home premium does not run quicktime 7.3.0.70. Error message reads; QuickTime Player requires Windows 2000 or later.

Can anybody help?

619922 2007-12-10 08:02:00 Is it the 32 or 64 bit version of Vista??

According to this (discussions.apple.com)

It doesnt work with Vista 64 bit. You can try and change it to run in 32 bit.

Or you may have to uninstall 7.3 and install an earlier version like 7.15.

619923 2007-12-10 08:03:00 Welcome to PressF1 Just Me,

Thats odd, just looked and the 7.3 as shown Here (www.apple.com) says it works with Vista ?

I have it installed on Vista HM Prem and no worries.
Try downloading it again from the link above and see what happens.

EDIT: after seeing speedys reply Heres the link (www.download.com) for quicktime 7.2 and even Older versions (www.oldversion.com) 7.1 and before

619924 2007-12-10 08:43:00 Anyway it's vista64.

I removed Quick Time but it does still appear to hang around. When I try to install an older version I get the message; Can install Quick Time because a newer version is already running.

What next?

619925 2007-12-10 08:55:00 Did u quit QT before you uninstalled it?

Did you uninstall it ??

If its still running kill it.

And reboot, then try again

619926 2007-12-10 14:07:00 Why install QuickTime Player? Use the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack (www.free-codecs.com), it runs quicktime files, real player files, and any video file you throw at it! all in one small player! barely uses any resources. MaXimus (13013)

619928 2007-12-11 01:24:00 Do your research before installing QT on vista. Security problems exist and I have read it can destroy some RAID disks. linw (53)
619929 2007-12-11 04:40:00 like I said, no need for QuickTime on Vista no XP! K-Lite Mega Codec pack plays any file you throw at it! No adware no bull **** :) MaXimus (13013)
619930 2007-12-11 05:05:00 Greetings.
The enquiry was about Quicktime 7.3.
It is widely used and well documented.
It works for me, and I install it as an option on the Windows Vista Home Premium machines I assemble.
