| 619901 | 2007-12-10 07:49:00 | Good evening, I'm a long term newby of Ubuntu. From advice gleaned from this forum I have signed up with Xnet broad band and I bought DSE's $40 ADSL modem (XH9972). I was not supprised that it didn't work on my Ubuntu machine (may be it can be made to work - ?anyone?). It's fine on an elderly ME machine - which I dont use. I'd like to get it right this time. So my question is:- what's a good ADSL modem for Linux; price being the major factor. DSE's $40 modem's out put is; in contrast to dial-up, acceptable for what I want. rsvp and thanks sarum |
