619906 2007-12-10 00:36:00 Go to control panel / admin tools / computer management / disk management.

Highlight the unallocated entries right mouse / partition/format.

You have to format them, before Windows will see them / you can use them

619907 2007-12-10 00:39:00 Looked in there and theres only the ide and the sata1 and sata2 hdd running. no sata3 or sata4 hdds have been formated and running before. bluezone (12434)
619908 2007-12-10 00:44:00 Are these sata's that dont show in Windows SATA 2 or SATA 1 hdd's??

As it looks like this mobo supports SATA 1 not SATA 2.

Someone didnt jumper them to SATA 2 did they?

And are these SATA's connected to the mobo or using an adapter?

619909 2007-12-10 00:52:00 Sorry meaning sata1 and sata2 ports on mobo both the 1st 2 satas are runngin and show in windows but sata3 and sata4 are not showing. The hdd's are Western Digital Caviar SE 80GB SATA 7200rpm 8MB Cache. www.sigmapconline.co.nz bluezone (12434)
619910 2007-12-10 01:00:00 Are you running all 4 sata's from the motherboard or do you have 2 running off a sata card?

If you have 2 running off a sata card this caused problems for me mixing and matching the motherboard sata ports and the addon card sata ports. I had to run all off the sata cards. 6 sata devices I run off cards, plus ide devices.

619911 2007-12-10 01:00:00 No adaptors all 4 sata hdds have a stata plug on mobo. hdds are sata1 and not jumpered.

Update No sata cards or ide cards.

619912 2007-12-10 01:06:00 So, are any of these SATA's sata 2, because the mobo doesnt support SATA 2 by the looks of it.

You would have to change the jumper on them to SATA 1, if any of them are SATA 2.

619913 2007-12-10 01:08:00 try just plugging in one sata at a time or switching sata sockets they are on and see if it is an hdd problem or not.

you may have to check your boot order in your bios each time though.
