I have ASUS DVD-RW 1814BL, it worked well but some days ago problems started: I burned data DVD and it can't read it (Windows Explorer just hangs) but other computers read it excellently. I tried other discs but the problem persists. Then I booted in safe mode and all my discs were read well. I tried FAR Manager in normal mode and it could open, copy etc. all files except executables (.exe and .msi)-it shows I/O error. And when I inserted DVD-video disc it shows empty folders. Autorun is disabled. I have Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2. Drive - ATAPI. Please help me if you can! :help: |

| 619470 | 2007-12-09 19:07:00 | I have ASUS DVD-RW 1814BL, it worked well but some days ago problems started: Try a System Restore back to when the drive was working. Backup your data first, especially that which was created since the restore point you are restoring to. |

| 619471 | 2007-12-09 19:13:00 | Without the Imapi 2 update, if you're using XP's cd burning, it doesnt support burning to DVD natively. Only CD. Did you install the Imapi 2 update, which does support burning to DVD? |

Did you install the Imapi 2 update, which does support burning to DVD? There are no problems with burning only with discs reading . I used Nero 7 for burning . I can't restore my system to the right time . P . S . I searched for the IMAPI 2 drivers for DVD but can't find where to download them . :confused: :illogical |
