| 619417 | 2007-12-09 07:27:00 | This is a wonderful old DOS game. My operating system is Windows XP 32 bit. I can load the game using the in game default Graphics Mode of 360 x 480, and also the lower resolutuion. However, whenever I increase the Graphics Mode to anything beyond 360 x 480 and try running the game, the game does not display correctly on screen. The worst result is when you increase the mode to the games maximum setting of 1024 x 768, the monitor just powers off like it has gone into suspend mode. While in this mode, the game will still respond to pushing F1, Q to quit and then Y to say yes. This is the games natural method of quitting this game. Once you have pushed Y, the game exits and the monitor powers back on. I have tried using the Program Compatibility mode on the Scorch.exe file with no positive response. Although I had no real understanding of which boxes should or should not be ticked. Example: Disable visual themes or which of the boxes on the Memory tab should be altered. What settings can I change to have this game displaying correctly in the maximum Graphics Mode of 1024 x 768? I know my monitor handles this setting because I can change to this setting when in Windows Display Properties. |
