619392 2007-12-09 03:13:00 Hi guys, wondering if you can help me. I have a Asus Striker Extreme with a Core 2 Duo E6750 cpu and a Asus EN 8800 GTS. Occasionally when I boot up windows loads everything and then the blue screen of death flash momentarily and the system shuts down. This occurs more frequently when I try to load a game. It will let me open the game but when it loads. BAM! shut down city! Any ideas on how to alleviate this problem?? clevertrev (12879)
619393 2007-12-09 03:21:00 If youre using XP 32 bit, boot into normal windows, if u can.

And press the windows key, and pause together on the keyboard if its got one

Go to the advanced tab / startup and recovery / settings.

Untick automatically restart..OK and OK.

Play that game again, wait for it to crash. Whats the blue screen say, and what driver is it showing if any.

And what game?? 1 or any game? How much ram is installed?

Does it only crash, when youre playing a game??

619394 2007-12-09 03:24:00 Thanks Speedy, will try it and let you know what happens and what the screen says. clevertrev (12879)
619395 2007-12-09 03:33:00 Ok, back again and this is what the screen says:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

and the technical code is:

0X0000000A (0X00000016, 0X0000001C, 0X80502392

Not sure if that makes any sense to you Speedy but I'm hoping it does :D

619396 2007-12-09 03:34:00 Does it show the name of a file or driver as well?

Are you using the latest version of the Nvidia drivers from the Nvidia site?

Whats the game/s?

Are you using any Symantec programs?

If so, what?

Just found this (www.pcadvisor.co.uk)

It says the exact stop error, and says it maybe a conflict between the Nvidia drivers and AVI codecs.

619397 2007-12-09 03:38:00 It didn't post a driver name.
I'll try updating the nvidia drivers from their site. I'm using an Asus 1814BLT dvd writer (sata).
The game is the one that came with the Striker Extreme when I bought it as part of the package. The game is Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter

619400 2007-12-09 05:00:00 Is a form of media Player as Described here (www.divx.com) Prob easiest way is to go to Start>all Programs and look for its folder, or go to the control Panel > Add remove programs and see if its listed there. wainuitech (129)
