| 619346 | 2007-12-08 19:19:00 | Its a good idea to update it. Try some of the replies here (www.mcse.ms) Or here (thevistaforums.com) Looks like the fix below will let you install it. It does appear to have been an authority issue on file MAPISVC.INF and here is how I did the "workaround". 1) Opened properties, and took ownership of the file for the profile I am using. 2) Once ownership was granted, set the authority for the Administrator group to FULL. 3) Downloaded and installed the update manually (this was actually how I found the specific error as it was reported with greater detail which provided the actual file name and folder location - the error indicated that it did not have the "authority" to the file; this level of detail was not provided in the automatic update.) 4) After the update installed successfully, I reran the auto-update to have it correctly post the fact the update was performed. |

This was, of course, in a test environment so it wasn't a total disaster :) but I'd advise checking to see whether you actually need the update before charging in and installing it. | Nermal (7077) | ||
