620471 2007-12-12 02:11:00 Does anyone know of a good FREE ext3 reader that will run under windows XP?. on my laptop i have my main partition running ubuntu with ext3 filesystem and I keep all my music and videos on that partition but would like to access them when booted into my small windows XP partition. It would be nice to be able to write to ext3 from windows but just reading is fine

What you really want is this (http://www.fs-driver.org/)

It installs a driver on windows which allows you to read and write to an ext2 partition just like you can with FAT32/NTFS.

The partition/drive shows up as a drive letter in Windows Explorer/My Computer.

Used to use Explore2FS, until I found out about Ext3IFS, HEAPS easier :)

Havent tried mucommander, so cant comment there...
