| 620358 | 2007-12-11 21:04:00 | I need to run a repair install on WinXP Home. When I boot from the WinXP cd and go through to the installation, repair isn't one of the options. How do I get that to option? Many thanks. |

| 620359 | 2007-12-11 21:10:00 | This is meant to reinstall / repair windows XP & leave all data / programs Intact. If possible make sure your data is backed up, sometimes it does go wrong. You will need your 25 digit product key for this. Place XP CD in drive: Reboot or shutdown and start PC. 1.When the Press any key to boot from CD message is displayed on your screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD. 2.Press ENTER when you see the message To setup Windows XP now, and then press ENTER displayed on the Welcome to Setup screen. 3.Do not choose the option to press R to use the Recovery Console. 4.In the Windows XP Licensing Agreement, press F8 to agree to the license agreement. 5.Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the box, and then press R to repair Windows XP. NOTE: if it doesn't locate your old OS STOP! as any further actions may result in wiping your data. 6.Follow the instructions on the screen to complete Setup. |

| 620367 | 2007-12-11 22:06:00 | What it does: fans - spin green light on monitor lite - but no display after the initial bios screen couple of blinks from the hard drive light after the bios start-up screen What it doesn't do: complete the boot (diagnostics card I have gave a code 25) doesn't display anything after the bios no hard drive activity after the bios start-up screen Also tried new power supply with no change. |
