If they don't have any AV software then take the latest AVG or Avast free edition and install it.
No point cleaning the PCs from a USB U3 drive or CD and then leaving them unprotected, or with old virus defs, because as soon as one of those infected users USB stick gets put in again the PC gets infected again.

620463 2007-12-12 05:53:00 if they dont connect to the interent..................................how are they getting infected, most (I'll admit, not all) virus's these days are transmitted via an interent connection. beama (111)
620464 2007-12-12 06:28:00 True, most are obtained via the internet, but many can still be obtained via floppy disks etc
If a virus is transmitted in such a way, and there is no internet connection, then even downloading some FREE anti-virus software such as AVG Anti-Virus and installing it on the machines will go a long way towards eliminating all EXISTING threats. If the machines have no internet access, or only one or two has internet access, then make sure that the machine owner / operator is aware of how to update the software. That way it prevents any NEW viruses coming in.

Otherwise something like INSERT Rescue CD might be a good idea for removing Viruses.

Free Anti-spyware software would be good, but again its not really needed as Spyware generally doesnt spread via floppy disks or anything.

So basically, you're just cleaning up the old / aged viruses if you make sure the entrance (The few machines that HAVE internet) are well-protected.

What Im trying to get at, is, its probably not really needed to go and have it all run from a thumbdrive / CDs like you're suggesting, although it is a good idea :)

As has been mentioned, the plus side of having something installed & constantly running then it prevents it from being re-infected :)
