621346 2007-12-15 05:46:00 Is there anyone apart from hauppauge that make tuner cards with hardware encoders?

I have seen some cheap cards that advertise "Realtime MPEG encoding"

eg: www.elive.co.nz

They are out there, just gotta find them :)

621348 2007-12-15 20:11:00 Just out of curiosity, what do you have against Hauppauge cards? Personally, I've found them to be brilliant . Erayd (23)
621349 2007-12-15 21:59:00 Nothing really, I'm just looking at the options

Oh yeah and I forgot to say in my first post, do those 2 cards have hardware encoding?

Have you seen this (snapstream.helpserve.com) page?

621351 2007-12-16 02:46:00 Take a look at these cards. (www.trademe.co.nz)

And also this extensive thread: PCI DVB-S Tuner (forums.pcworld.co.nz)

621352 2007-12-16 04:35:00 The digital is not much use to me, since I don't have a dish, I just want analog with hardware encoding... Agent_24 (57)
621353 2007-12-16 06:38:00 I know you said other than Hauppauge, but I am going to add my card in (yes it is a Hauppauge :p)

I have a WinTV PVR350 and it is great, has analogue in, S video/3.5mm sound input and TV Out and it is great, can use the TV out part to run on the TV via RCA or s video and it uses less than 3% CPU power of an Athlon XP 1700+.

Does the job really well :2cents:
