Its pretty old now, but still works.

Why do u ask?

I don't use the mic plugin though, I have an external Mic that attaches to the Shoe on top.

621013 2007-12-14 07:10:00 Thanks Guys,
My girlfriend is making little arty docos and I thought getting the mic off cam would be an improvement.
Bantu I can't find that model on sale here anymore. How much do you want for it ? :)
cheers

621014 2007-12-14 08:59:00 Just bought one of these:
www.bhphotovideo.com l
for a Sony HDRHC5.

Only available in the US but pretty cheap given the NZ$ is high (shipping is a killer so check if there's anything else you like on the site!) Mine turned up within about 4 days, works like a charm (just no headphone out so monitoring is a bit of a pain) but works with virtually all Sony Handycam models from the last couple of years.

Sony also have the HDRHC7e with mic and headphone jacks onboard (about $1799 I think?). Both cameras use MiniDV tape but also shoot in HD - I'm sure your girlfriend will appreciate the picture quality difference! (even footage shot in HD and downscaled to SD using the camera looks pretty hot)
