620831 2007-12-13 06:36:00 Im looking to re-install but I really would like to keep all my bookmarks, history and passwords that is stored in firefox. What folders and files will i need to be backing up to keep all these?

Thanks

620832 2007-12-13 06:43:00 To export the bookmarks, select from the menu bar Bookmarks / Organize Bookmarks>File Export to a loaction of your choice. To export all passwords select tools>options>security Tab >Import /Export Passwords Example (www.imagef1.net.nz) and there are several different options to export. Save all the exported files to a folder and burn them to CD or removable drive and simply repeat on the new install, but select Import instead. History - I'll look it up.

Note: if your version of firefox doesn't have the export password, you may need This Addon (addons.mozilla.org) install it then the export function will appear.

Also added to the above look at This forum (forums.cnet.com)the post Just transfer over the profile....

You can do both methods and at least one will work. There is also a part on tranfering history in that forum.
