621070 2007-12-15 06:11:00 I was like you as well. And I do notice that XP is faster and much responsive, Look at my laptop specs below in my signature. it's the best for a laptop but still. Anyway, once SP1 is released it'll help sort things out.

But Vista is way nicer than XP and it's the OS now. Try to find your way around it, rather than install an OS from the past tat has no driver support from HP

SP1 is released...

But you can pretty much get all of Vista's features on XP, without that much of a change in performance ;)

621073 2007-12-16 06:06:00 now i installed windows XP,but i don't have a disc with the drivers so where can i get drivers for HP pc for win XP ? emes34 (11736)
621074 2007-12-16 06:12:00 Well like u said in the first post, and what I said in the 2nd post, there are no drivers for XP.

So, if theyre not on the site, nothing will work. You wont get the drivers from anywhere else.

Unless u can figure out WHO made the hardware, thats in it.

Not much you can do about it.

Did u create a recovery cd / dvd. If you deleted the partition?

621075 2007-12-16 08:14:00 Hm seems one of my posts ( 12) ended up in the wrong thread OOPS!.

To Quote Speedy ----

Unless u can figure out WHO made the hardware, thats in it.

These may or may not work ---

Anyway - just looked at the HP site and your PC , as pointed out only Vista Drivers. BUT------- They do state some of them-

Original drivers are Audio Realtek Generic XP Drivers (www.realtek.com.tw) for Audio.

Graphic and LAN According to HP are nVidia XP (www.nvidia.com) - Graphic. LAN and Chipset For XP Here (www.nvidia.com) - BUT unless you know the chipset it may or may not work - might be SUCK IT AND SEE !! The above drivers are for XP they'll either will or wont work - they may not support the chipset in your PC.

621076 2007-12-16 11:18:00 i found all the drivers in one other forum some guys had the same problem as me :D these idiots from HP and ASUS don't put the drivers for XP on their sites so everyone to buy pc with vista which is right from their point of view :) but i saw the model of my mobo and googled it and find this forum where some guy working for HP posted links with the XP drivers for every single component.man the difference now between vista and xp is like day and night, the pc's flyin :) emes34 (11736)
621077 2007-12-16 20:33:00 And they are STILL selling Laptops and PC's with 512 meg of RAM ! just to keep the price down and then the poor punters find out they needed 1 or 2 gigs !

I know two people who bought laptops with Vista and 512K and find them useless

By they I mean chain stores etc (not computer shops which hopefully talk people into 1 or more gigs)

621078 2007-12-16 22:30:00 Another thing you have to watch out for with Vista is the fact that it's chock full of DRM (Digital Rights Management) fish hooks. These are little apps that watch out for when you load a copied CD, or DVD, or try to download something from an unlicensed site on the net.

Upshot: if you're into downloading free music or movies, don't get Vista.

621079 2007-12-16 22:41:00 Really??? What does it do??? I always just told XP to get lost whenever it asked me about DRM, but how is vista different? I'm not always the most legit of computer users... should I be concerned? Thebananamonkey (7741)
