622422 2007-12-18 14:59:00 Hello,

I recently took the back up of my hard drive (C drive, where windows XP has been installed) in *.gho file using NORTON GHOST. When I restore it back system date should change automatically to the date that I have taken the back up. is't it?

Example : I took the backup on dec 10th. Suppose if I restore it back on say dec 17th, is't it supposed to chage the system date back to dec 10 only????
But when I chack the system date its changed to dec 17th.

How can this happen as the image file contains regestry file and all the information regarding installed windows Xp files the system date is new one???

622423 2007-12-18 19:37:00 The date/time is being updated from the CMOS (BIOS on the motherboard) or Windows is synchronizing with a timeserver.

If you wanted to go back a week, you need to change both the date in Windows and in the CMOS.
