2007-12-18 04:46:00 | I have a new computer with Vista on it, but can't install MYOB. It get's part way thru the process (unpacks files) but then stops working. I have been told that the install shield program has an error and I need to repair it - I have looked up "tinyurl.com\accpy but this is for XP. How do i do this? | penguin2 (13180) | |

2007-12-18 06:28:00 | Try copying the contents of the CD (or DVD) to the PCs hard drive, and try installing again. Find the .exe, right click on it and click "Run as Administrator".

2007-12-18 06:29:00 | that installer you linked to will probably work. It just pre-dates vista by a couple of years. | wotz (335) | |
2007-12-18 07:56:00 | I copied the MYOB Cashbook files to the hard-drive but it still only got part way thru the install process (it stopped after unpacking the files). I tried to download "Microsoft repair installer KB893803-x89" but I got a "set-up error" message that" there is not enough storage available to proceed this command" - yes, I'm sure that this is something basic, but I don't know how to proceed from here. Thanks

Open System by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking System. 2. In the left pane, click Advanced system settings. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. 3. On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings. 4. Click the Advanced tab, and then, under Virtual memory, click Change. 5. Clear the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives check box. 6. Under Drive [Volume Label], click the drive that contains the paging file you want to change. 7. | 622377 | 2007-12-18 19:30:00 | Its a problem in your registry thats causing this. The path changes with every system so its difficult to pin down but as a *rough* guide HKEY-CURRENT_USER / SOFTWARE / AppDataLow / Classes / Local Settings / Virtual Store / Machine / Software / MYOB / Cashbook Delete this folder. Sometimes it won't be under AppDataLow other times Local will be missing from the Classes tree, its very much trial and error. Its also possible you might not have the latest version, there is at least one patch since the 2007 version was released. Send a email to support at myob dot co dot nz and ask for the latest patch to be sent to you. |
