2008-01-04 09:19:00 | Can we assume Tyara is near Wanga? That should be Ytara.Ytara == Waitara and is approx 2 hours from Wangas. However, when going to Foxton, Wangas is on the way :) beetle.. it was supposed to be a flying visit, hence we didn't catch up for coffee. Maybe next time :) YW Maryann :D

2008-01-08 18:52:00 | Myth...When you were here you mentioned a P4 something or other. What is P4? MB or CPU?? PJ | Poppa John (284) | |
2008-01-08 18:53:00 | Pentium 4, which is a mobo and CPU. | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2008-01-08 19:52:00 | Speedy... Current specs are XP SP2 Home. CPU...Athlon XP 2166MHz (6.5 x 333) 2700+ MB...Gigabyte GA-7VM400M (3PCI, 1 AGP,2 DIMM, Audio, Video, Lan. MB Chipset...VIA VT8378 Unichrome KM400 Ram 1 x 512 & 1 x 256 (PC 3200 DDR SDRAM) How does P4 compare with that? PJ

2008-01-08 20:06:00 | Depends what the speed of the P4 is. P4 speeds would range from 1.5 to 3 GHZ + I've never had an AMD. So wouldnt know what 2700+ (its true speed), is in comparison to the speed of a P4 (depending on what the speed of the P4 is). If you wanted to change it to a P4, you would have to replace the mobo and CPU. But you could keep everything else (altho this would depend on whether u wanted 478 pin P4 which is obsolete, but there are still a few 478 pin mobos around, not sure about the CPU's tho, the ram u have would work). Or 775 pin, you would have to replace the mobo, CPU, and you may have to buy different ram. And a better PSU.

2008-01-09 03:03:00 | PJ, Heres the specs... I have a P4 CPU .. 2.66 Ghz Northwood Socket 478 The motherboard is an MSI P4MAM The motherboard has 3 RAM slots. One of the holding clips on the third slot is broken Also the board is very pedantic re: RAM. If the RAM is not seated perfectly it will spit RAM beep code errors out Mobo and CPU about 4-5 years old Whats the word on your computer?

2008-01-09 05:03:00 | I'll pop in and see them in an hour or so and look at the PC, But its going to be either a dead CPU or Mobo. | Metla (12) | |
