622009 2007-12-17 18:05:00 Hi,
I got home based business. I want to calculate profit, loss and using those
information want to calculate GST return etc.
Is there any ( free or cheap will be better) reasonable software which,
Allow me to enter all the products/stuffs purchased.
Allow me to enter all the products sold.
Allow me to enter my expenses etc on a perticular day.

And using these information it can calculate the profit or loss etc.
And optionally calculate GST return.

This is really required for me.

Thanks in advance.

622010 2007-12-17 20:52:00 Have you found anything software yet? If you have Excel, you should able to do that.

If not, I can help you create an online calculator for you for free. I am a programmer but I am not an accountant, so you will have to provide me all the math formula/calculation..... :waughh:

Or Open Office's free spreadsheet app, possibly?

622013 2007-12-17 21:45:00 Sounds like you need an accounting program - the One I use Cashbook Complete (http://www.acclaim.co.nz/) does every thing you have asked, doing the GST is dead easy simply select the dates from - to and hit print. Have a look at the screen shots it shows many of its functions wainuitech (129)
622014 2007-12-17 22:18:00 As Wai. said, get CashBook Complete and start off from your next end of year balance date and everthing should flow smoothly.

Wai, as an old retired branch accountant, CashBook is great.

Microsoft have Money, which I think my airforce son has used, but I thought was typical American hard to decipher.

Prayami I hope you are making a good go of your home business business and taking all of the expenses entailed there.

Lurking.

622015 2007-12-18 18:27:00 Thanks a lot. This is really good response.

My requirements are simple. So I think as "JeremyC" suggested excel will be the best for me.

Hai "JeremyC",
I have made one sample excel file with calculations' requirements written in that.
It is simple, not too complicated.
Please let me know how can I send you.
Please also let me know, how much will it cost?

Thanks,
