621899 2007-12-17 00:55:00 Suddenly when I print from Excel, it prints really big text and only a couple of lines on the page, then goes to a new piece of paper and prints some more large lines, and so on.

Nothing has changed since Friday when it was printing normally.

Its Excel XP, HP Business Inkjet 1000.

If I select the entire text then Print Selection it prints how it should,

621901 2007-12-17 04:07:00 I assume you have checked all the page settings in the print options, one thing that does come to mind is the Print area, from File>Set or Clear print area. May or may not help ? wainuitech (129)
621902 2007-12-17 04:47:00 has the print scale changed ? forgive me if not the correct term. plod (107)
621903 2007-12-17 06:29:00 Nope, been through all of the above. Its only Excel that does it, same spreadsheets as I said that were there Friday.
This is the Vista PC - but then again Vista was there Friday too.
I can't find anything on the net about it.....

Why do I get the weird stuff?

Why do I get the weird stuff? Its sent to test your ability as a computer Tech :D You're not alone in weird problems - I got a good one at the moment as well.,---- Well a couple actually.

Just a thought - have you tried the good ol system Restore back to Friday , something has changed, just not obvious.

You should have seen MY problem about exe files not loading when I plugged in a 3rd hard drive.. that was weird

Try printing the files from another PC, reset your printer driver settings to defaults or reinstall the printer, maybe reinstall office/excel?

621906 2007-12-18 00:33:00 Ok I have cured it.
By deleting *&&^%$ Vista and going back to XP.

It corrupted a couple of the Excel files.
Not that it would print any of them properly. Or even preview properly.

I have to say I agree with this thing that Bletch posted in another thread:
dotnet.org.za

Some of what he describes I found as well.

I guess some of it is drivers that aren't out for Vista, and some is programs that aren't compatible now but I am sure not going to spend anymore time or money or the thing.

It can wait until SP3.
