621875 2007-12-16 21:45:00 ive put it off for a while but i finally have to install vista as i want dx10. however a few mates have reccomended that I get the 64-bit version over the 32. I have a 64bit cpu so the only question is should I go for it? LOWTEC (7821)
621876 2007-12-16 21:58:00 Well, before you install Vista.

I would check if there's drivers for either the 32 or 64 bit version.

For whatever you've got.

Might be OK installing Vista, but no point installing either version, if nothing else works besides the videocard.

621877 2007-12-16 22:02:00 The problem with 64bit (which I have) is that some programs don't run as well as they should. I've had a couple of games either not install or not run properly because of the 64bit system. Some older programs 32bit programs have problems because the windows libraries aren't the same.

That said if you don't plan on running any old programs you should be fine. All new hardware has Vista 64bit compatible drivers now.
