| 623008 | 2007-12-19 22:52:00 | I'm using Windows Vista, which has a built in IE search facility. Since installing the intrusive Yahoo!xtra software required for webmail, the default search facility always defaults to Yahoo. You can change the default back to Google and delete the Yahoo options, but after a period of time, yahoo!xtra reappears as the default. Does anyone know how to stop Yahoo!xtra doing this to leave Google permanently as default. Note: I have tried changing the home page, without success Cheers |

| 623010 | 2007-12-19 23:06:00 | Welcome to PressF1 Dexter - Have you tried uninstalling the Yahoo Software - much to yahoos wording and warnings, you dont need their software to access your web mail. I can ( and many others will have as well) go into my web mail and never installed their bubble crap. They usually want you to create an account with Yahoo, but thats all. Try removing the yahoo software and then it should stop changing the search as you want. |

As wainuitech said, you dont need Yahoo Software to access your mail, I can access my Xtra mail fine with out the need for there Software. |

| 623014 | 2007-12-20 00:16:00 | You don't????????????????? Can't remeber the exact wording but Yahoo tries very hard to make you install teh crap they have. I just ignored it as I already have several Yahoo ccounts - let me in right away - no Yahoo Intrusion software as Poster is complaining about. |

But now that you say the installation can be avoided, you've raised my hopes. So I guess I should be brave & have a go... (At some stage, I will need my webmail - even though I haven't since Yahoo reared its head) Any tips I should know before taking the plunge? Edit: I see allblack has beaten me to it. |

| 623017 | 2007-12-20 00:26:00 | I'm also wondering whether it's different for people - like wainuitech - who already have Yahoo in some form on their comp? I don't. |
