| 622550 | 2007-12-18 22:03:00 | ..and started opening new tabs as fast as it could, all of them going to "about:blank", until it reached what appeared to be a tab limit (or it ran out of memory) and then froze I couldn't even load task manager to kill it. Eventually it responded to me clicking the X and it closed  |

| 622552 | 2007-12-18 22:16:00 | I have come across websites in the past that have caused IE to do this, but it does not happen often. I always scan the PC thoroughly after it happens. | Bantu (52) | ||
| 622553 | 2007-12-18 22:16:00 | I had that happen here at work a little while ago and called over our IT guy. He looked at it and laughed, saying he'd never seen it before. I'm on IE6. It probably won't happen again, so I wouldn't worry about it. It is weird though. Use Opera instead. So much better :) | Thebananamonkey (7741) | ||

| 622559 | 2007-12-24 01:47:00 | Could you be more specific please? About blank in a Mozilla based browser is nothing. But in IE it can be: en.wikipedia.org(disambiguation) # about:blank (see CoolWebSearch), generic name for one of the most common but hardest to remove variants of CoolWebSearch malware Its not hard to kill now - its an old one now, but I'd check just in case............. |
