| 622831 | 2007-12-19 21:16:00 | So...using that logic, should S & D be replaced by Spyware Doc, or run them together? Use as many anti spyware programs as you can. Do separate scans and only keep one active at any one time (disable others until you need them for a scan). No single program will find and eliminate all spyware. |

I'll d/l it from wainuibro's signatures. Cheers. |

Yes this can be a problem so you need to run only one - have only one that is active by disabling the others. Once a week or once a month (depends on your situation) do updates for all of the inactive programs, then activate them one by one and do separate scans. This way you avoid programs that conflict with one another. Spyware Doc would be a good choice as the one you keep active most of the time, second choice would be SpyBot S & D. |

Well, finally got PC going after d/loading and running the Spyware Doc. It found 3 nasties. Restarted, and got these two messages that looked real serious! Panicking, so didn't write them down, but one was called summat like SDSYYAPP.error, with lots of funny codes in msg like cc0000079 etc. Clicking on Ok or the X didn't get rid of it, just bought up another box with similar stuff in it. (Your name was mud around this time!) :p So I ran the Registry part of CCleaner (no idea why), restarted and all seems to be good. |

Off to the mud hole for a splash LOL . |

| 622840 | 2007-12-20 05:43:00 | Get hijackthis in my log, we'll see whats on your system. Put it in its own folder first run it, then click on scan the system and save a log. Then copy and paste the log here Ohhhhh dear! I would love to do this--- If I knew how to put something in its own folder. I may even manage that, but I am sure that if I do I will never find it again. My computer is already like a lost property office where things vanish never to be seen again. I am using XP & have 256MB of RAM. I am self taught & have an aversion to all manuals ---- so I am also jargon illiterate.:groan: |
