| 622575 | 2007-12-18 23:06:00 | Dont worry about the reference to me getting caught by the Function key turning off the touchpad. That was just an aside about a problem where I got caught out. So, what lights do we have, if any? As far as I can see all we have is a fan running and the CD draw opens and closes but nothing else. Is that correct? When i am charing the battery. The battery icon lights on. That and the caps and number lock blinks on when i turn it on. And yes that is correct. |

| 622578 | 2008-02-11 00:49:00 | I dont know if you ever got this fixed, but let me tell you how I dealt with this exact same problem with a Travelmate 230. The only thing that got it running again is changing the ram to a different amount (swapped out 256mb DDR266 to 128). As soon as I did that it booted right up. I am not sure why this works, but it did for me. Of course being on 128mb of ram it ran very poorly, so I tried putting 512mb (2x256mb DDR333) and it runs just fine. I have updated the cmos (something I only do with extreme caution), but it has exhibited this problem only once more, and again changing the memory seemed to jar it loose from the problem it was having. hope this helps, Cameron Berry |
