| 624181 | 2007-12-24 02:56:00 | Playing with this facility - a query. I can access Start, Microsoft Office ok but have problems in opening Word 2003 and within Word opening an existing folder. If I open a Word document or WordPad manually the rest of this programme seems to run sweet and responds well. Just have the problem opening Word and its folders. Appreciate any help. In the meantime - Merry Christmas to all. |

Its not like in star Trek where you simply talk and the PC answers. If you say the command " Start listening" - "Open Word" when talking to it, you usually should get a list with numbers, each suggesting a different application Microsoft Word, Word Pad and sometimes Notepad -You then say the number relating to the Application - and it opens. If it wont open certain processes when talking Eg: the folders say " Show Numbers" all operations will have a number suddenly appear on the operation then you say the number and it will open. When Dictating to word it offten gets words wrong - funny it picked up and spelt the "F" word great, yet couldn't spell my name with out correction. |

| 624183 | 2007-12-24 03:28:00 | Hi Wainui*. Thanks for prompt response. Yes, I have done the intro and brief learning session, printed out the notes, etc, but somehow had missed the sequence for the small problem I had. It seems to like my old Scouse accent and in the dictation, layout, formatting and correcting areas it seems to be cooperating well and I'm really enjoying it. Have no practical use for it at present - but interesting. | Scouse (83) | ||
| 624184 | 2007-12-24 04:16:00 | It does Take a LOT of learning and rembering what to say. The first hurdle is This Helpful Message (www.imagef1.net.nz) It really like different Accents ;) You will also get a LOT of This Message (www.imagef1.net.nz) - thats when you start swearing, saying things like I bloody said ***** - and its amazing - actually funny what pops up  What I was meaning regarding opening word, if you say "Open Word" you may be presented with This Box (www.imagef1.net.nz), you would say ONE then OK. To select the options you would say Show Numbers (www.imagef1.net.nz) In this case its Numer 18 we want to open a folder you say 18 then OK (www.imagef1.net.nz) and the folder opens. It CAN be very Frustrating sometimes in the learning. I live in a place called Wainuiomata, but when I say it you get "One only a Matter" And if you are really lazy you can even shut the PC down by talking to it, you say "start" - Show Numbers - Say 29 OK (www.imagef1.net.nz) thenNumbers appear (www.imagef1.net.nz) Had I have said the Number 7 it would have shut down. |
