2007-12-21 22:15:00 | I have a PIII 1000, Windows XP, with Nero 6 software. I wish to copy LPs to CD. Problem: sound card Line In accepts signals from my stereo amp and plays through the computer speakers, but Nero does not read the data and so will not record to hard drive for me to burn CDs. How can I trace/fix the problem? | Malcolm36 (13199) | |
2007-12-21 22:36:00 | Try Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2007-12-22 04:49:00 | or look at PolderbitS which you have to pay for http://www.polderbits.com/ Audacity is free however, and has a very good reputation. Check your needs against what each has to offer ! Misty :)

2007-12-22 05:21:00 | I have used cool edit pro 2 which was pretty advanced. Remember you may have to clean out noise, clicks, and pops, and maybe split the tracks in to separate tracks... | kahawai chaser (3545) | |
2007-12-22 07:16:00 | Hi Malcolm36 Here is a link to the 'Audacity' tutorial which should help answer any questions regarding transfer from LP to CD/DVD (audio). audacityteam.org computer_or_CD Audacity is available as a free dowload and very good. PeterE

2007-12-22 14:43:00 | Hi Malcolm You are using Nero so look for the application called NERO WAVE EDIT. This not only records the music but will also allow you to clean up the pops, clicks and crap as well. BURNZEE
