1422097 2016-06-20 09:02:00 The transmitter might have a power of 10 dBm and the receiver a sensitivity of -90 dBm. If both were operational together (full duplex) the isolation would need to be 100 dB to stop the transmit signal polluting the receiver. That's a huge amount when the two circuits are only a cm apart and sharing the same antenna and band eg 2.4 GHz.

Cellphones use separate receive and transmit bands

Over :)

1422098 2016-06-20 09:23:00 Yeah, Roger that, :) but why the hell are we using exactly, or near enough to, the same frequency send and receive?

Like you say, Cellphones have different send and receive bands.

The problems of crosstalk must go back about 100 years and here was me thinking digital and filters had fixed all that.

I must keep up or I’m about to lap them. :D

1422099 2016-06-20 10:58:00 Basically, plug in to the router, disable WiFi, and do a speedtest. It'll take you 5 minutes tops, and then you can confirm: The speeds are still not 100mbps
If I was you I'd test with both fast.com and speedtest.net

Aside from the router that Vodafone supply being ass, there's no reason why you shouldn't be getting with ~95% of the advertised speeds for UFB Fibre. If they say you're going to get 100mbps nationally, if you're getting under 100mbps to a speedtest site like that, you should be investigating the cause, and I know that Vodafone have been having "issues" of late... As in their speeds are absolutely abysmal!
truenet.nz

The only one who's worse than Vodafone is MyRepublic. They're the abomination of NZ ISP's given their speeds attained :: speeds advertised ratio.

Doing this test cabled in will ensure that the issue is not on your side, not your PC, and you can go back to them and start kicking some ass.
