1418429 2016-04-01 14:59:00 Whilst I admired his acting and comedy skills and the way he overcame his
small physical stature, I imagine that he enjoyed a comfortable and fulfilled
life for most of his 85 years, Unlike the millions who die prematurely from
disease and other poverty related issues, many of whom die in childhood.
We always make a fuss over the demise of well known richer people and tend
not to all the others who pass away without a moment of thought or prayer.

1418430 2016-04-01 20:12:00 S'funny - I remember him most from his guest appearance on one of Gordon Ramsay's TV cooking shows. As a comedian I think he was mildly amusing at best. Greg (193)

A bit uncharitable there. Tell us some of these nonentities names and I will say that I am sorry they died.

1418433 2016-04-01 23:43:00 Kind of agree with Greg and kenJ above. Corbett seemed more of a funny - comical type, but it appeared the clever one was Barker (particularly the "double talk" sketches , where his lines sounded quite different when he spoke slowly) - who I think scripted and produced most of the two Ronnies show. Barker (who apparently was shy on stage) went on to greater (or better) success (Porridge, Open all Hours), with the BBC giving him the reins I think to do what he wanted. Never really saw (or heard off) Corbett in prominent shows again...Maybe needed the other Ronnie to excel? kahawai chaser (3545)
1418434 2016-04-02 08:41:00 Sorry kenj, if my comments seemed to you to be "uncharitable".
They were not meant to be and I apologise. I did say that I "admired" him
and it was simply a statement of reality to point out the mortality rate.
