I suspect we lost the vote thanks to the damn RSA codgers who voted with the misguided pseudo patriotism that the flag represented who they fought for. A very sorry moment in our country's history, and such a lost opportunity. :( Or maybe because the alternative design was terrible. I hated the black on it. |

SWMBO and I went for the change after a long time of thinking to keep the old flag. By the sound of it, a lot thought like me as the polls were not showing it as close. We did not consider any political influence at all. The vote was quite straightforward........ new flag or old flag. People who voted to keep the old flag over the new one because they hate John Key, are just a pack of w a n k e r s. Ken |
