| 1418170 | 2016-03-24 20:13:00 | Email from daughter (teacher in UK): "3. I have decided I really need to get a laptop to replace the one that was stolen, especially now that I will be needing to make English lessons at home. Could the daddy possibly look into what he thinks would be good? I don't have a lot of money to spend on it so I'd be looking for something not bottom of the range but pretty good for not much money. It'd need to do Photoshop as well ideally which I guess means a decent processor. I just haven't had time to do any research into it as I can only do that at school (it's ironic, really)." Mrs Micro and other daughter have 11" Win10 Celeron convertibles (ie touch screen + keyboard, 4GB RAM) but I think this daughter wants something a bit more powerful. The one that was stolen was a Win7 Toshiba 14" 2-3 years old, an i3 I think. I personally don't have Win 10 yet so when I fiddle with wife and daughters' machines I use the touchscreen because it's quick to try things when you don't know what you're doing. But maybe that's not a consideration for younger people |
