625142 2007-12-28 02:28:00 Kids got an ipod nano each for christmas, unfortunately I have a Win98 SE and they are unable to use my pc .
I went to www.98-drivers.com and paid $5 to download a driver, then needed winzip to open it so downloaded iPod-PSP-win98-v26.exe but I can't get any of it to open.
Could someone help me please?

Am wondering whether I should proceed with what I'm doing or has anyone else got a better idea?
Not getting a new pc til february 08.

Thanks
Wendy

625144 2007-12-28 02:36:00 Did you unzip it then point to the folder after you plugged the Ipod in?? Speedy Gonzales (78)

Anyhow now I have another problem, Miss 14 tried to open it in 'word pad' and now we have this googly gook writing that means nothing.
Have I lost it now or can I retrieve it out of word pad?

625147 2007-12-28 03:37:00 The one you paid for will still be there, just has been renamed by the sounds of it. Does it now end with .doc if its ending with anything else other than .exe, then right click the download, rename to iPod-PSP-win98-v26.exe

Its the .exe thats important.

It may pop up a message saying are you sure etc, click yes /OK. It should then install by simply double clicking.
When you plug in the Ipod, if it asks for the location point it to C:\program Files \ Ipod.

Looks like the link you provided does the same thing, and its free. - Does the same thing.

625150 2007-12-29 01:41:00 SUCCESS!!
Well that was totally exciting! I've managed to get it going:)
PC has accepted the ipod, now I need to work the realplayer out .
It says only USA citizens can download music . . . . Hmmmm:confused:

What should I do from here? i have the V10 version .

Thanks
Winnie:)

625151 2007-12-29 01:47:00 Dont bother with realplayer its full of crap.

I would install Winamp if it works with 98, or one of the free programs around.

If youre only going to sync MP3's to it.
