| 624855 | 2007-12-27 09:37:00 | Thanks speedy, I have now been able to backup all her photos etc, When I said backup thats what I meant - not an entire drive, like you said no point backing up viruses . I also deleted the system volume information folder contents - that virus(s) could have been lurking in there . :thumbs: I will do an online Trend Micro house call scan of her hdd tomorrow and give it another crack before I reinstall her os . I tell ya, I work all day and have to come home to people dropping their comps off, especially relations, they expect me to fix it for them again and again for free . :groan: I just can't be stuffed any more . :groan: This is the second time her hdd has been full of viruses, only this time they seem a lot more lethal . | 624857 | 2007-12-28 07:28:00 | I can not seem to locate a recovery edition of XP on the hidden partition. Can I use my XP home CD and use her CD key on the side of her computer? Would that work? Thanks |
