624763 2007-12-27 02:29:00 Sorry for caps

Temps are ide website surfing temps. have watched dvds and played NFS Prostreet and used photoshop cs3 and the cpu temp stay under 60c I have both 92mm fans on the cpu cooler in push pull mode.

Was wanting to replace the 80mm fans to 120mm's.

Yeh Celeron D 315 2.26mhz socket 478

Only xp home sp2 32bit and vista 64bit. Can windows xp pro do 64bit? I cannot remember.

624764 2007-12-27 02:33:00 Yup, there is a 64 bit version of XP Pro.

I've got it on cd here.

624765 2007-12-27 02:39:00 if you have the locations for fans fill them with fans or block off the unneeded ones.

the front/rear/side locations really need fans. however if you want to reduce noise remove the side one and BLOCK OFF the side vent.

with the amount of HD's you have you need good airflow around the drives.

not sure on the case but if you have fan loctaions on top i would block them off.

624766 2007-12-27 02:40:00 Yeah I think 1x 120mm intake and 1x120mm outtake is enough. qazwsxokmijn (102)
624767 2007-12-27 03:21:00 Sweet mite get xp pro as i want to upgrade from home and i no SP3 is out next year .

Yeh 4 hdds have a 80mm fan blowing on them can install a 120mm infront of them and 2 are in removable mobile hdd racks that have a fan in them . So If i had just the front and back 120mm fans I would have to seal the side fan hole not just have a fan grill there with a filter or is it better to have it sealed?

624768 2007-12-27 03:25:00 SP3 is for XP Pro and Home 32 bit. Not for the 64 bit version.

So, you'll have to get XP Pro 32 bit, if u want SP3.

SP2 for x64 only came out in March this year, 350mb!

624770 2007-12-27 04:27:00 Given your current temps, i would consider not even upgrading the fans. Your after market CPU cooler is massive, and your current config seems to be doing a good enough job. noone (22)
624771 2007-12-27 04:39:00 yeh it is massive lol daul 92mm fans on it. setting at 50c right now set round 44c upto 55c im just surfing net listening to mucis windows media player and got photoshop running. its using 709mb ram.
