624666 2007-12-26 08:59:00 The beeping sound you are getting indicates definitely a RAM problem. If the clock frequency of the RAM is not supported by the motherboard it would lead to the problem that you are experiencing. I would suggest that you carry your old working RAM to your vendor and try to get an exchange for a piece with exact matching specifications.

Hell, even the other PC here, wasnt meant to use DDR 400 (Would have been nice to know this, BEFORE I built the bloody thing)!

Now, I know why it was 2nd hand and $70.00 lol

Altho it does still run, with 2 simms of 512 mb DDR 400 ram.

The consequence is, it wont go higher than 266 mhz, in dual channel mode. (only coz its a 533 fsb CPU).

Change it to 333 or 400, it wont turn on.
