| 626985 | 2008-01-03 08:26:00 | Right mouse on the desktop, / properties / advanced / click on Geforce FX 5200 tab (or whatever shows here). Then full screen video. Depending on how you've connected the other monitor (or TV - either with an RCA or s-video plug), change full screen device to secondary display. I think its different, if you're using a s-video cable. If you do have a Geforce FX 5200, I'm using the same card. Its only got an RCA/s-video out on it. I've plugged mine into a TV's RCA socket input, and selected the above (full screen - to secondary display), to view whatever on the TV, and Windows on the PC monitor. Can you help please.....i have a Nvidia geForce MX 440 with AGP8x video card that works ok to the LCD Tv ( a new Toshiba 32") via AV outlet that has a S-Video plug. I thouhgt I would try and link it up with a split dual Monitor cable instead using the Monitor input on the TV. I switched the TV to the "PC" option and the opening screen showed ok but then nothing and the screen just went blank and flickered all the time. The Computer monitor worked ok. I was then not able to get the Menu on the Tv to stay showing so couldn't alter anything. I have the card set to two monitors 1 and 2 so that's correct as afr as I know. I then turned the computer off and tried to set the Tv on PC mode but one of the settings was greyed out. Maybe the Tv will not work as a monitor??? Why have a plug if that is the case. Any help please KG |

| 626986 | 2008-01-03 08:34:00 | It'll be better if u use an RCA cable/plug from the back of the TV to AUX / whatever on the amp (if both have the connection) . Thats how I've connected it here . So sound from the TV (when u change channels go thru the stereo) . But you'll still get sound (obviously, from the TV and stereo, if the stereo is on and AUX has been selected) . And connect the s-video from the PC to the TV input . (which may or may not work - s-video can be fussy) . Altho, here, I'm just using the s-video to RCA adapter that came with the videocard, and using an RCA cable) . You may have to switch the TV to S-video (or video channel) mode, or whatever its got to get the signal from the PC . I take it the drivers for the videocard are installed (whats the videocard, Nvidia or ATI)?? The ATI drivers are a PITA to configure (In clone mode that is) . Well for a TV . As it'll keep changing the monitors resolution back to the TV's resolution, everytime u reboot . And it takes a while for the settings to stick . So the resolution of an LCD monitor stays at its native resolution . Hi I have just asked you a similar question on another post Speedy . I am trying to run the Tv as a secondry monitor by using a dual cable straight from the Video card to both Monitor and TV but no joy with the TV . . . an LCD 32" Toshiba with a monitor plug at the rear . | 626987 | 2008-01-03 08:34:00 | Hi tenorman, I have split this post off from the old thread you posted it in as your problem is a bit different and will be better off being in a new thread. I have now also moved your similar post you made in another thread. Please do not make multiple posts about your problem as it will not get you help any faster and will only confuse matters. Just use this thread to work through your issue. Thanks. |
