626654 2008-01-02 07:22:00 Welcome to PressF1 Benjamin- Try looking at This page here (support.microsoft.com) From Microsoft, several fixes available.

Once repaired by which ever method chosen, if you need advice on editing the Boot.ini post it back here and someone will advice you what to do.

While installing Vista over the top would fix it, you don't need to.
Repairing XP would be less time consuming, and depending on your PC's Spec's, may need hardware upgrades to handle Vista. Vista needs POWER !

What? I wouldn't even install XP over the top of itself. Never mind a different O/S.

Do a repair on it.

With Vista you should do a clean install if you want it, and make sure you have checked for and downloaded all the necessary drivers first.

But I'd stick with repairing XP.
