| 626869 | 2008-01-02 23:37:00 | Got a friend who is working on a computer with about 12 viruse's on it. He gets rid of them with AVG but apoun rebooting and doing another scan they are back. This suggests to me that they are in the registry. What is a good program that scans the registry for viuse's and gets rid of them or do you have to manually remove them, or the last option a hd format and reinstall of windows. Can viruse's get into your bios and if so can you remove them. :) |

| 626870 | 2008-01-02 23:45:00 | Your viruses are more than likely repropagating from the system restore files, turn system restore off then on again, this will clear the restore point files, then do your scan (AVG checks the registry but not system restore); might pay to do a malware/spyware scan too, maybe even Hijackthis if you still have troubles. No, you cant get viruses in your bios. |
