2008-01-07 03:01:00 | Guys I confess to knowing darn all about these things so Im relying on you. It looks like I want a Hauppauge PCI TV Tuner card but which model? Which one will allow one to view analogue and digital TV, listen to FM & Digital radio and doesnt need special media suite software that costs more than the card? A remote would be nice but not essential and it must run on XP. I look forward to your recommendations. :D

2008-01-07 05:02:00 | My leadtek Winfast 2000XP PVR always worked well..... I lost the install CD & now I cant get it to work on my new PC even with the drivers downloaded...AARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! But yeah I was suprised how good they are for only $88. Mine didnt have FM but I think for only a little bit more money you can get one that does. PS - AARRRRGGHHHHH!!!!

2008-01-07 05:20:00 | My leadtek Winfast 2000XP PVR always worked well . . . . . I lost the install CD & now I cant get it to work on my new PC even with the drivers downloaded . . . Which one have you got ? ( . leadtek . com/usa/tv_tuner/default . asp?lineid=6&picid=1&seriesid=56"" target="_blank">www . leadtek . com) Select Analog, if its an analog tuner . There's more than 1 tuner with 2000 in it . I've got the TV2000 XP deluxe, but I use the PVR program for the Expert . Since it looks better, and its a later version than what you get for the Deluxe .

2008-01-07 07:55:00 | Box says Leadtex TV2000XP RM Edition A confusing part is that whenever I used to install it, it used to install three different things seperately, so Im not sure whethere I have to do each manually etc. I am checking that site, thank you.

2008-01-07 08:04:00 | Might be this one (www.leadtek.com) Looks like it uses the same drivers as the deluxe. If you want the program this one should work (www.leadtek.com) The application NOT the driver. Altho, this is for the expert, if it works with the deluxe, I cant see why it wont work with yours. The only reason if yours doesnt work (if the drivers wont install), the card may have the same prob this one had. A corrupt EEPROM. WHAT exactly doesnt work on yours?? Do the drivers install OK. Or is it the program that doesnt work?? WHAT 3 different things are you installing???

2008-01-07 08:18:00 | PS - Sorry for Hijacking your thread. I shall have to see if digital ones are coming out yet for PCs.......though I dont think my area gets very good UHF reception, which I beleive is required.

2008-01-07 18:25:00 | I have been setting up a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-4000 over Christmas. It promises to do the lot (analog TV, composite input, FM, DVB-T, DVB-S and future DVB-S2). Card seems to be fine but software support not so good. I haven't yet found one application that will use all facilities of the card! See my thread pressf1.pcworld.co.nz Happy to provide you more details if you go down this route. I haven't been able to test it with DVB-T because it isn't transmitting in Wellington area yet, but believe it works fine in Auckland. No DVB-S2 transmissions to NZ yet. | ledzep (1441) | |
